So, question is, what are the differences between the non facelift cars and the later ones? Is one better than the other? I'm not talking about the visual updates, more interested in the mechanical ones.

Appreciate ANY accurate shred of info you can provide, thank you. It is a facelift CLK, not sure of engine. 270cdi is an engine with a couple of issues imho. Swirl flaps on manifold will leak at some point and will drip on the motor causing limp mode. £350 part and 10 hours labour.
