This is as close as you can get to backcountry camping within a developed campsite. Cal-Cheak has large signage visible from HWY 99. Heading south from Whistler the turn-off is just before the main road to the Callaghan Valley, about 20 minutes past Whistler Village. You'll need to do a U-turn here, as there's no turning left on the highway.

The put in is at the Callaghan/Cheakamus confluence, where you quickly run the Cal-Cheak down to the head of the canyon. Turning off highway 99 at the Daisy Lake FSR (follow the signs for Whistler Bungee) you can put in at a number of places including the Cal-Cheak campsite or the bridge over the Cheakamus about 1 km from the highway.
